2013 Forest River Cedar Creek Silverback 29RE — Residential Fifth-Wheel Comfort with a Classic Rear Entertainment Layout

The 2013 Forest River Cedar Creek Silverback 29RE is a residential-style fifth wheel built for campers who appreciate plenty of living space, solid construction, and the comforts that make longer campground stays more enjoyable. With three slide-outs, a rear entertainment center, comfortable living area, freestanding dinette, spacious kitchen, private front bedroom, and generous storage, the 29RE still offers a very livable floorplan.

At approximately 33' 11" long and 9,970 lbs. dry, this Silverback delivers substantial fifth-wheel living space without stretching into today's 40-plus-foot territory. Its three-slide design opens up the interior while Cedar Creek's aluminum superstructure and extended-stay construction give the 29RE the substantial feel the Silverback line was known for.

Spacious Living with Classic Cedar Creek Comfort

The Silverback 29RE is centered around its roomy rear living area, where opposing slides create a comfortable place to settle in at the campground. The original layout featured recliners, a sleeper sofa, freestanding table and chairs, large windows, solid-wood cabinetry, and a rear entertainment center, giving this fifth wheel a residential feel that's especially nice for extended stays.

The kitchen provides plenty of counter space, cabinetry, refrigerator, microwave, range with oven, double-bowl sink, and pantry storage. Up front, the private bedroom offers a queen bed, wardrobe storage, dresser, and additional cabinetry, while the bathroom includes a large corner shower with seat, toilet, vanity, and linen storage.

Construction was a major part of the Cedar Creek formula, with an all-aluminum superstructure, 2-inch sidewalls, insulated roof and floor/underbelly, 16-inch E-rated tires, and Dexter running gear. Add the large 66-gallon fresh and 80-gallon gray-water capacities, and the 29RE remains well suited to campers who like longer stays without constantly breaking camp.

With a 13,615-lb. GVWR, this is a substantial fifth wheel and should be matched with an appropriately equipped tow vehicle. Actual loaded pin weight can be considerably higher than the published dry hitch weight, so truck payload, rear axle rating, tires, fifth-wheel hitch capacity, GVWR, and GCWR should all be considered.

Who Is the Silverback 29RE Perfect For?

The 2013 Forest River Cedar Creek Silverback 29RE is a great fit for couples looking for a well-appointed pre-owned fifth wheel with plenty of living space but without the massive footprint of many newer luxury fifth wheels. Its three slides, rear entertainment layout, comfortable seating, freestanding dining area, private bedroom, large holding tanks, and abundant storage make it especially attractive for longer campground stays.

It's also a reminder that a well-designed pre-owned fifth wheel can offer a tremendous amount of camper for the money.

Three slides. Residential comfort. Classic Cedar Creek construction. Plenty of room to settle in and stay awhile.
